Flame Awards
The Flame Awards are an initiative of Music: Play for Life.
Most of the case studies featured on this site are from schools which have been finalists, or have won a Flame Award. The Awards take place every year, themed differently, and are designed to reward and promote schools putting music front and centre in school life. They offer a $15,000 prize pool which is generously supported by philanthropists, Robert and Elizabeth Albert.
2011 Flame Awards were open to all Australian schools. The theme: creative and engaging ways of delivering music education. To read about the 2011 finalists and winners, click here. Congratulations to all the schools who got involved.

Music: Play for Life is the Music Council of Australia's grassroots campaign to get more Australians making music: in schools, communities, everywhere.
The More Music Toolkit was produced with the kind assistance of the Ian Potter Foundation.
